Jay,

You're correct, it's just basic HTML. To make a link, you would type the following, but replace the parantheses () with brackets <>.

(a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalVegasUsers/")http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalVegasUsers/(/a)

The first place the link appears is the actual link, and the second is the text that becomes the link. Make sense?

Hope that helps....

You can also have the link appear as just text, rather than the URL. In Luxo's example, type something other than the URL for the second instance of the URL. This text will be displayed. For instance:

Link to start of this thread

Is done with this code (replacing the () parentheses with <> brackets):

(a href="http://www.sonicfoundry.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=201133&Replies=4&Page=1")Link to start of this thread(/a)

I always like posting the URL as the link text in forums like this so that people can see exactly where they will be going before they click. If it needs a description as well i'll add that as additional text.

Very Cool!

What other useful HTML things are there?

Once again, replacing () with <>

(b)bold(/b)
(I)Italics(/I)

What I hope SoFo does if they get the $$$ from Sony is upgrade this rather primative forum software that is so limiting and SLOW. Its almost from the dark ages.
