How to Add Audio Envelope Points Automatically?

Dear gurus,

I'm still learning so forgive me if I'm not explaining myself clearly with the correct terminology.

Essentially, I have two tracks on Vegas Pro.

If you look at the image, the top audio track is narration, and the bottom audio track is music.

Stage A
I first delete the parts where there is no narration by:
1. Hitting S to bookmark the start and end of the silent portion.
2. Hitting "delete" to get rid of it.
(I do this because I have noticed even with noise reduction on Audacity, there is still sometimes a background buzz, however faint.)

Stage B
3. On the audio envelope, I create points by double clicking where I want to fade in and out.
4. I pull up the volume that corresponds to the silent portion of the narration segments by a set level, for eg. - 4.4 dB.

This is a really very tedious process and I am sure there has to be a shortcut method.

Could you advise me if there is a faster, more efficient way to automate Stages A and B?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your reply but that does not answer my question. I know how to set start and end points for shifting the audio level.

@GFM You wrote: " On the audio envelope, I create points by double clicking where I want to fade in and out. "

What @DMT3 is indicating is that you don't have to add those points manually, they are automatically added when you create a time selection and move the envelope inside.

@LdM_Edit is correct. @GFM Using the method I showed, the 4 points are created automatically. No need to double click to create those points individually.

@LdM_Edit Ah I see now. Thank you!

@DMT3 Thank you very much! My apologies, I was not focussing on the right thing there. It works beautifully! 😁😁
