How to add multiple media files without too many tracks

Hey, I've been wondering if it was possible to add multiple pictures into a video without adding too many tracks. I wanted to make an edit where comments pop up quickly in succession--one after another. Do I just have to manually add tracks and grind them out, or is there an easier way?

Just select the images and drag them to the timeline. They will all be dropped onto a single track. Then move them around as needed.

Hey uhhh i might have miscommunicated a bit here. I want them to show up in succession one after another, but i also want them to stay.

Here is an example:

(Just the first 15 seconds of the vid)

@kqinu, to do what's around the 12-15 second mark, you'll need a person clip with alpha channel. It will then need to be placed on multiple tracks and then use Track Motion on those tracks to position where they go. If you don't want to dedicate a track to each, you'll still need each on their own track but you could use Pan/Crop to change the positioning or use the PIP effect to change the position of each. But you'll need that same clip on multiple tracks.

Then if you have the word blocks popping up, the same will be true. Each will need to be on a separate track. That one little segment may have required 15 tracks or so. To get one person to show up six times at the same time will require six tracks.

Of course, you could then render out that small segment and then just place that one rendered file into your main project so it only takes one track. You could also "group" the tracks and then "close" the group so you don't see those tracks all the time.

Here I've created a group from the first 6 tracks:

Then I've closed the group so I don't have to "see" them:

With the group closed, I can just ignore those tracks and continue my project with as many more tracks as I need. If I need to go back to that section, just open the group again.
