How to add nodes to video opacity envelope

I am sure this is pretty basic, but I am stuck.
How do I add nodes to the track/clip opacity envelope? I need to adjust the opacity on various places.

If this is not possible, how can I achieve the same using other methods?

If I understand you correctly:

You can use the envelope edit tool, or much easier:

Hold down shift while you click on the envelope.

Double-click the envelope. Or right-click it and choose "Add Point".

That's assuming you're using a composite envelope on the track. If it's the event's individual opacity level, it's all or nothing.

English is not my native language, so I should possibly blame it on this fact.. I have overlooked the "Composite Level" envelope.
Why it is not called "Opacity", well.. I guess it is to distinguish it from the event envelope with the same name.
