How to Adjust Bit Rate in Vegas??

Can anybody please provide me with some instructions on how to adjust the bit rate at which Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 renders AVI files into MPEG-2 and .WAV files?

What I do is import AVI files into Vegas, edit them as I wish, then render the video as MPEG-2 and the audio separately as PCM. I would like to be able to adjust the bit rate at which the AVI files are coverted into MPEG-2 and PCM.

The only way so far that I have been able to do this is to edit the AVI files, the render the edited movie into a single AVI, then import that into DVD Architect Studio, and adjust the bit rate there. I would much rather adjust the bit rate in Vegas, if possible. Thank you.

Vegas Movie Studio does not allow to adjust mpg2 settings (the custom button is greyed out). Perhaps Vegas Pro does allow this?

Yes, it does - and adjustment of many of the other MPEG encoding parameters too.

Personally, I think it's silly that VMS doesn't allow bitrate adjustment when DVDAS does.......and when most other low-end editing software allows it.
