For a track FX, click the Track FX icon in the track header and select "Bypass All".
For a video event, click the Event FX icon on the event itself and select "Bypass All".

Thanks Mike!
I simply have overlooked this, I never thought of right-clicking any of these buttons.

It is very helpful and instructive to spend an hour or so right-mouse-button clicking on *EVERYTHING* in the Vegas screen. Even if you think "this is just grey background space, it can't be anything", try right-mouse-button clicking. There's an amazing world of features and menus available that do zillions of useful things. Most of them fall into the "how did i ever survive without that?" class.

I do right-click all the time, I am a Windows man. Except in the Pro Type Titler, of course ;-)

Hey, I'd just like to thank you guys for this as well. Two great tips! I've wondering the same thing about FX, and now I'm going to right-click on all sorts of things to find out what else I've been missing!
