How to capture a frame for a menu background?

I'm aware that there is a "save snapshot" icon, however, how does one get the best resolution?

I've tried undocking the viewer, making it as large as possible, and setting it to "best / full", and yet the resulting image is not as clear as I would like.

I'm wanting to use the image as a background in DVDA. I want to have an intro video end with the same picture as the menu background and find that the image degrades in quality when the menu comes in.

Is there something else that I am missing?

Put the preview to BEST/FULL and then take the snapshot. That will translate incredibly well to a DVD menu. Same resolution as the menu will be.

I could only get a quarter-resolution snapshot out of VV5 using this method. I fired up VV4 and got a full size image on the first attempt though.

I have noticed the image width would be off by snapshot to file but was correct if you copy snapshot to clipboard.

Anyone else see this?

Which build are you using? I'm getting 654 x 480 whether it's a snapshot or to clipboard.

Also learned just today after extracting close to 500 stills that "Match Device Aspect Ratio" must also be enabled. Otherwise, I got a 327 X 240 capture. Couldn't tell there was a problem looking at the preview window.

V4 - I'm not happy...

That could be my problem, I'll check when I get home. Thanks for the info.
