HOW to change ALL transitions to crossfades?!

I am so frustrated right now. I'm using Vegas 5, and I have all of my photos on the timeline. I used Ultimate S script to create a quick photo montage. What I can't figure out however is WHY vegas doesn't have the simple, standard crossfade as a choice to use as the transition. Or maybe it does and I just can't find it in the list of transitions. This is driving me nuts. I know that by selection all of the events, I can grab a transition from the list and then drop it on one of the transitions on the timeline and that will affect all of them. But HOW do you do that with the CROSSFADE???? Been spending over 2 hours trying to figure this out. Needless to say, I'm sure I could have went through the 400+ photos and changed them all by hand.

Which brings me to another question. Is there a hot-key that will allow me to go back and forth from one event's transition, to the next event, and so on? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me here.

ultimate S lets u allocate the type of transition beofre u even start your slideshow...

THEN theres the option to run scripts... i sure theres one out there that lets u remove all transition, or remove all evffects.. that kinda thing.. VASST is a great resource for scripts... so check teh website..

I know that. But the Standard crossfade is *not* an option to choose from, as far as I can tell anyway. I couldn't find a script on VASST that would do it either. <sigh>

A crossfade in Vegas isn't available from the list of transitions, as all you have to do to create a crossfade in Vegas is overlap 2 events on the same track (with Automatic Crossfades enabled).

I may be wrong here, but I thought that if you specify a transition length in US2 but don't specify any transitions, then the default would be a cross dissolve.

True, and that works great if you are adding events to the timeline, but what if they are already ON the timeline. There must be a way to change them all to crossfades. Also, isn't there a way to skip forward to the next event using the keyboard?

I'm not sure about the cross dissolve default in Ultimate S, but I'll check. But, is a cross dissolve the same thing as a crossfade?

Jive, thank you. You are correct about Ultimate S. If you check "Apply Transitions" but then choose "none" as the preset, it resets everything to a crossfade. COOL!!!! Just what I needed. Thanks again for the tip.

A Cross Dissolve refers to video, and a Crossfade refers to audio. I just used the same term for both because the Automatic Crossfades feature in Vegas works for both audio and video.

http://www.jetdv.com/scripts/RemoveTransitions.js

This will adjust all selected events back to crossfades by removing any transition.

Thanks Ed. That script works great. Perfect.
