How to change the keyboard shortcut of Alt-t-t-c

Steve_Rhoden wrote on 6/15/2015, 8:06 PM
Anyone here knows how to change the keyboard command shortcut of the "rescan script menu folder" which is Alt-t-t-c to something else or shorter for that matter ?
I have tried endlessly in the Vegas keyboard shortcut window, but without any possible
solution.

Probably the easiest way would be to use an external macro program. I've used Pulovers Macro Creator (freeware) for creating scripts for running the Mercalii plugin in a batch fashion, so something like this would be really easy. You could then define a shortcut key combination, although in reality you'd only be saving only a couple of keystrokes. (I've got the Alt-t-t-c down pat already!)

Steve, I can't see an actual KB Command for "Rescanning" the Script Menu. No KB Command, then no can do. Yes, there are KB shortcut "strings", which you described, but if there isn't a command to be activated then no. Or have I got the wrong?

Interesting.

BTW, why do you need to rescan that often that you need a KB SC?

i use a logitech gaming keyboard with 3 x 12 programmable 'f' keys. a joy to use with anything that requires keyboard short cuts....

Grazie, because i open up and work within photoshop alongside Vegas consistently right
thru the day pushing out broadcast content, it gets bothersome to return to
Vegas every time and having my toolbar icons missing.
Therefore i want to simply assign "Alt-t-t-c" to the "escape" key for example, so when
ever i switch back to Vegas i just hit the escape key and my icons re-appear.
Trust me, Makes a world of difference!
..... Any solution, Script or external method achieving this simple adjustment would be
appreciated, because it cannot be done directly in Vegas. Thanks WWaag for
that recommendation, but im getting nowhere with that application!

@Steve

I've sent you a PM with a dropbox link for the scripts you need. Once set up, you can do it from a keyboard shortcut in Vegas which in turn "runs" the external script.

Steve, now I understand why. It's that Toolbar Icon Dissapear bug! It would be good if SCS could finally squash it. You/me having to make a work-around Macro to adapt to a bug is just plain daft.

OK, possible solution: do you own a Contour Shuttle Pro 2? I've added MACROS to that and it works nicely. I have CTRL+X Undo and CTRL+Y Redo the Big Buttons. I've also made a complex L and J cut reduced to a near one Button solution!

Cheers

Here's the fix for anyone interested using Macro Creator.

Seems to work OK but perhaps someone else could give it a go?

Nice one wwaag. Here's mine that works, using my Contour Shuttle Pro 2 Macro Key Composer:

I've assigned it to Button2.

OK, I've now re-tested and re-tested and it works beautifully rescanning. I renamed a PNG Toolbar Icon and after rescan it was to revela as a plain vanilla Script Icon. Then, renaming back to it proper name and doing my CSP Button2 the Icon is back. So, my Rescan must be working. Also, after "debuggin" the Macro I've reduced the Timeout/Pause to nothing for the actual Rescan, only leaving 1000ms for the initial Menu searching:-

It works in less than the blink of an eye.

Hi Steve, do you have a CSP2? In which case have you tried my solution?

Here's Show Hidden Toolbar Icons script that you can assign a keyboard shortcut to.

Works great. Sure is a lot easier than my scripts using Macro Creator. Thanks for your effort.
