How to change the scale on the audio event track

In Vegas 3.0, the audio track peaks on the graph that I can barely see them. Is there a way to:

a. Change the scale on the graph so that the peaks are more obvious?
b. Change the height of the graph event so that I can see the peaks more clearly?

I'm trying to match the audio and the video (which are out of synch), so hoping that this will help.

And a third question. What's the best way to synch up the video with audio? If I preview in draft quality, I still can't seem to match the voices with the lip movements ....

Can you tell us a little more about why you can't see the peaks very well? Is it simply because the track height is too small? If so, in the header area (on the left side of the screen) you can place the mouse at the bottom of the track and see the pointer change to a vertical double-headed arrow. You can drag the bottom of the track down to make it taller. Will this help?

I get the feeling from what you've posted that the problem might be that the audio is so quiet that you have basically a thin line in the audio track instead of seeing a thick "beefy" waveform. If this is the case, it's probably due to the audio being recorded too low. If this is true throughout the entire audio track and there are no large peaks at all, try normalizing the track. This will make the largest peaks fill the entire height of the track.

You can also make the zoom in on the waveforms vertically by holding Shift and pressing the up or down arrows.

Thanks! Normalization "filled" the event; resizing made the smaller events easier to see.
