How to convert a screensaver to avi ?

There are plenty of apps to make your movie into a screensaver, but what about going the opposite direction ? I have a great screensaver that I want to make into an AVI (or any video format).

I can't find *any* information on it :-(

Any clues ?

One obvious way is to use a video card with S-video output and run that into a camcorder or another PC.

Spirit: go to www.rendersoft.com and download FREE (yee-peeee!!!) CamStudio. It will enable you to record what's on your screen in AVI files. You can even crop a precise area on your screen to be recorded if you want. And with sound... if there is some.
