How to convert .sds files to wav or mp3?

I have a number of royalty free music CD's that I bought years ago. They are all in .SDS format.

I no longer have the computer with the special program that would allow me to open and use these files.

FYI, it is my understanding that .SDS is actually a midi format.

I am a long time Vegas Pro user but have been away from it since version 13, which is what I currently have & would prefer not to update at this particular time for this project.

Is there an open source or other free (and safe) way to convert these .SDS music files to WAV or MP3 or some other widely used format so I can use them in this project?

Thanks for any help.

An SDS file is midi data. It is not song per se. You would need to use a MIDI program and MIDI player to convert it to a song file such as WAV or MP3.

Turns out you can import it into Audacity as a Raw Data file and then export it as a WAV, MP3, etc.

Audacity has many features, I was not aware of that one. Thanks for posting back.

Might those be .sd2 files?
