These tasks can be easily accomplished using scripts. Vegasaur contains tools that allow you to split events in many ways. I'm sure that other scripting tools have similar features, too.

No function like that in Vegas that I know of ... no doubt a script could be written to do this ..

Just a quick question: to what purpose? And what if the clip doesn't have an even number of frames? "in half, exactly" then becomes meaningless.

Good point. Well, I have a clip that I'm moving copy pasting for effect, and then I want to take just half that clip and copy past again, and then do it again. Think of a drum roll in dance music, which is actually what I'm cutting too.

Why bother? Do the edit in ACID, render to a new .wav fie, use this new file in the Vegas project. Just because you have multiple tools doesn't mean you have to do the entire project with only one of them.

It's video that I want to edit so I'd rather stick to Vegas and I don't think I can edit video in Acid anyway no?
