How to do a split screen with 2 tracks

Vegas 8 pro,
Gosh, I have tried every thing in the crop and pan and cannot figure out how best to do a split screen, showing two different tracks, half on left and half of the other track on the right. I get part of it working, but cannot pan to the part of the image i really need. seems fixed.

i also tried saying NO to the aspect and stretch options. I get close in the Pan and crop options, but cannot move the part of the shot that i really want in the cropped view.

any thoughts. seems like such a normal task. thanks for any help.

You can use track motion if you wish to leave the clips on separate tracks. First use the pan and crop tool to get what you wish to see on the appropriate side of the screen and then use track motion to move the track image half way across. Perhaps that may work.

Search YouTube for "Sony Vegas Split Screen" There are lots of tutorials with different methods

Personally, I use track motion. Worth the learning curve.
