How to do this?

I want to "fix" some footage by making teh whites a bit softere. Normaly i would just use curves, but this time i want to try something more. I want to add blury transition from whites to rest of teh picture. Sometimes it's done on weding videos to make everything more dreamy. ANyone knows how to do this?

...just try the Glow fx on your track and play with the parameters, it might be close to what you ask for...
