Try this:

File->Import->DVD Camcorder Disc

Pretty sure this exists in Studio version.

EDIT:
If what you want to do is rip a commercial, copyrighted DVD, you cannot do this in Vegas.

Thanks for the reply Musicvid. I was trying to load my DVD files into Studio so I guess I am out of luck. Do you know of any software that can do this? Thanks.

I think that Musicvid was telling you that you CAN probably load your DVD (unless it is a commercial copyprotected DVD) into Vegas Studio by using FILE>IMPORT>DVD CAMCORDER DISC. It is not just limited to camcorder DVDs (but it wont do copyrighted material). Thta is the way it works in the Vegas Pro version and I believe its the same in Stusio but I don't have it.

I think noknot is telling us he wants software to rip, edit, and reburn commercial DVDs, and if that is the case, I have no suggestions.

Here's what I do...

1) Rip DVD with DVDFab HD Decrypter FREE
2) Use VideoReDo TVSuite to edit out credits and end of movie. $$
3) Use VideoReDo TVSuite to burn to new DVD. (I rarely burn to new DVD though)
3a) or use pyTivo to transfer video to my TiVo and watch on my TV. FREE
4) Alternatively, Use Handbrake or Super (c) to convert to iPod format. FREE

Gentlemen,
This conversation has strayed from "Vegas Movie Studio" software for video editing. No, I'm not the forum police, and I fully understand where the OP is coming from.

There is more or less a "gentlemens' agreement" here that we avoid discussions that would enable others to bypass copying restrictions on commercially produced DVDs.

THE REASON FOR THAT IS THAT MANY PROFESSIONALS WHO FREQUENT THESE FORUMS MAKE THEIR LIVINGS BY PRODUCING COPYRIGHTED COMMERCIAL DVDs FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC, GOVERNMENT, AND COMMERCE.

With all due respect for the innocence of the original post, will you kindly take your discussion to any of several other forums on the internet that discuss RRR?

The consequence of turning these forums into an arena for discussing movie ripping is that the professionals who have freely given so much of their time over the years to help YOU learn more about this software will simply leave, and the quality of the information posted here will degrade, significantly.

If you choose to delete the previous two posts, I will delete this one.

Didn't mean no harm. I was just thankful for the help.
