How to get direct x 8 or 9 without having the computer connected to the net.

I have a friend who needs direct x 8-9 to try demo products out from sonic foundry. Problem is he doesn't have the internet. I tried to burn this to disc but it immediatley tries to install and no chance of saving the whole file.
Any clues? ; )

They are available as a separate file download. You just have to search for them. (I don't have the links and would also have to search)

I can't run the 10+ mb download cause I"m using Win2K and it's only DirectX 8.0a for Win95/98/ME
