How to get rid of the flicker?

monmart wrote on 4/24/2003, 4:49 PM
I used to use Adobe Premiere and there was a flicker removal option and frame blending option to smooth out pans, fades and slow motion.

What about for Vegas? What are our options here.

I really enjoy using Vegas Video, don't get me wrong. But I still need to re-render the video in Premiere to get rid of the flicker.

Anyone know?

Have you tried right clicking the clip mouse over switches and then choosing the "reduce interlace flicker" option?

I'm confused. I've never seen any flicker in Vegas except on grabs of interlaced frames containing movement, and that can be reduced with the "reduce interlace flicker" tool as shogo says. Can you be more specific about under what conditions you are seeing flicker? Did you capture the footage in Vegas?

No I have not tried "reduce interlace flicker".

It mostly happends on transitions and DV footage. This is AFTER it's recorded back to a DV cam (Sony-TRV830) and played on the TV.

Thanks I'll try that option!! Still new to Vegas!

In Vegas 3, make sure to turn on the event switch "enable resample". In Vegas 4, it defaults to "smart resample", which does what you want.
