How to... Home Improvement Effect

VV Users,

I just recently saw someone's piece of work, where a person within the video was paused...and a line was drawn around them very quickly.... then this new object was able to be moved around the screen.

This reminded me of the Home Improvement effect with Tim Allen when the show would change segments or go to commercial.

Can this be done in Vegas, if so How?

If the camera was locked down and you have footage of the scene both with and without them in it... ...you can bezier mask them (at the point where you paused the video) so that your top track contains only them. Your bottom track would contain the full background and they (the top track) could be moved around within the scene.
