How to know if Software is Genuine

We purchase hardware and sometimes software from computer removal/ supplier firms . They have informed me that they can build and/or supply media production computers, some have 'Sony Vegas 15' installed and Sony Vegas can be installed . From my understanding this computer would have originally been seized or removed for debt/ liquidation and/or be refurbished for resale . How can I ensure that the Sony Vegas software is genuine ?

Can the original licence be derived from the installed files on the HDD , or from the software itself ? Or does the key reside on a cloud somewhere , appended to the original owner?

Can the licence key even be resold ?

The best way to shield you is to buy software from major retailers, either locally, or on-line. If you have got a problem, they'll stand behind you, though that's unlikely to happen within the first place.
Another issue to go by: prices on software almost appear to be there's price fixing occurring behind the scenes, therefore if your value is much off what different major retailers are selling it for, it's probably bogus. Keep in mind, there are student versions of many software's, that are less expensive, however make sure you actually meet the license necessities. That said, a really smart place to shop for software is dell. I actually have found that though there are not lots of space to play with the price, they're typically lower...at least somewhat.

To know that if the hardware or Software is Genuine is for them to have a License Product Key.
