How to launch or use Nectare Elements?

I have the new Pro 13 and have dl'd the free Nectare Elements (NE) program (3 times already) now how do you actually use it?

I have the program group and the Pref in VP 13 show the 2 dll's as for NE. I opened a movie clip that has sound but cannot see this VST listed in such a way as to actually use it.

It says it not a stand alone product which is okay but then what?

Very confused by all this maybe the main program has been blocked in some way? I sent Izotope the serial numbers. The PDF does not seem to show the first steps to make it work like a dummy's guide to launching a VST.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Bill

PS Under the Extensions view it says "no extensions." So I do not think this VST is fully installed or activated.

It should list with all your other VST plugins, and is applied in the same way as any other plugin - adding it to a track's FX chain..

If not showing, then maybe it is installed in non-standard location. Either include that location in your VST paths in Options|Preferences|VST Plugins, or move the DLL to the standard VST folder.

In my Plug In Manager view under Audio 3rd party I see 2 Nectare Elements listings,
and under VST I see one entry for Nectare.

Then there all the various sound effects that can be applied.

Maybe I should open a MP3 and see what happens or perhaps try a live vocal recording? Still cannot determine how to get the NE interface open.

As far as the plug in path it was all a default download, however I did not get to the Authorize part and that is why I think the program is hidden until I do this aspect. But to do that you need to open the program.

I have to get to work now so cannot test any more this morning.

Thanks Geoff.

Under Explorer/program files X86 I have a VASST folder, a VST Plugins Folder. The Nectare folder is above those 2 by itself.

The VST Plugins is blank when open.
The VASST has Cinema Looks 1.0 and Title Strips

This is when viewed through Pro 13 Explorer view.

Bill, iZotope Nectar Elements is touted as a "dialog enhancement plugin" therefore add as a plugin at Audio Clip or Audio Track level.
Find it in "Plugin Chooser" in the "All", "Sony", "Third Party, "Automatable" or "VST" categories of AUDIO plugins.
From memory, you will be asked for activation code first time you invoke the plugin.
Can be added to dialog, vocals or anything else if you are brave.....

Okay,
Thanks I will look into that process tonight otherwise I will have to email their support page.

Take care,
Bill

Bill - it's "Nectar" ;-)

You put it on an audio track's FX chain, and access it's interface, just the same as any other plugin.

V13 manual Chapter 13 (starting page 299) might help. Or the built-in Help.

Hi - All okay now.

I kept looking under the "Video FX chains" since I could not find a "Audio FX chain"
then I started saying over and over it's not a video effect. After some poking around I saw
it was under "Insert" then "Audio Assignable Bus..."

Thanks folks problem solved.

Yes you can also use Nectar as "Insert" then "Audio Assignable Bus..." whereupon it becomes a send-able effect in its own FX channel; can also be used as a plugin in each audio clip on the timeline, or as a plugin in any audio mix channel; up to you!

Bill, as Nectar is a specialised and 'inline' effect, you would NOT use it as an 'Assignable Effect (which operates in 'parallel' to the track - more useful for things like Reverb). Open the vocal track's FX chain, in insert it there instead.

Again, V13 manual Chapter 13, or V13 Help under Applying Effects| Audio Effects| Adding Effects To A Track.

Getting there ;-)
