How to lock track?

New to Vegas Pro 9, please help!

I'd like to know how to lock a track (video/audio/whatever).

What I'm trying to do:

I have a clip of someone speaking. I want the audio to begin on the previous clip, then cut to the person who is speaking, then on to another clip while the audio of the middle clip (person speaking) is finishing. Not sure how to effectively do that in Vegas.

Thanks in advance!

All you need to do is place vision on a higher track at your chosen moment in the middle clip's audio - the audio will continue but the vision on the higher track, whether still or video, will have precedence.

Tracks currently can't be locked, but events can be, so if you want to lock everything in a track, select the first event, right click / Select events to end, then right click / Switches / Lock. This will lock them all.
