How to make a 3d box

How do you get the items (tracks) to connect. I got them to connect, but when I move both objects using the parent, they 'really' are not connected, just look like it. Is there a 0,0,0 space that you start with do that the sides are really connected?

There is a cube-veg file in vegas5 sampleprojekt called cube with shadows.veg, which you can download from the sonysite, but its a huge file about 130MB.

If you can use it, you can ad your pictures "as takes"
