how to make a line between two points?

I have this problem...

I have a image (JPG) of a map inserted to the video. In this video sequence , I want to make a thick red line between two points in the image. I want the line to be drawn from point 1 to point 2 in the video sequence that will last for about 3 seconds.

How do I do it?

Isnt there any ways to get lines to map-images make multiple images and work with 'em in photoshop? why cant I just make a line in Vegas? Or can I? :P

Vegas doesn't support drawing raster or vector graphics, so you can't without using some plug-in third party application or by tricks "draw" in Vegas. Maybe next version.

It's a bit of overkill for a single line, but you can use my "mapliner" program.

That program was AWESOME!!! =D

perfect.. now I'm done with this problem..

next one though :)

Instead of a simple line getting longer by time, I want a icon of a airplane in the beginning of the growing plane. I have this litte icon in a small JPG file.

how to? Or its maybe not possible to do this with Vegas :(

Thanks // Alex (Sweden)

If that icon picture file has a solid background then it's pretty easy to do. Place the icon in a track above the map video track and use Chroma Key to eliminate the background around the icon. Then use track motion to size & move it from place to place on the map. You can use keyframes to mark each point on the line and position the plane at those points, then Vegas will create the movement for you. You'll probably want to set the Smoothness value to 0% so that you get constant motion.
