Hi...I have a menu with scene selection and all together 25 links. I would like for each of the links to loop back to the Scene Select Page or Main Menu. How do I do this???
Unfortunately, you can't do that, because your scenes are actually part of a longer video.
If these were individual clips or even individual clips trimmed down from the longer clip, it's easy. But you can't treat scenes in a larger clip as individual clips. Sorry.
SO if re-render the Trailer separately and import it into the DVD project I can then loop it back? In other words I would have to videos on the DVD timeline and then proceed to add chapter marks or links.
You won't need to rerender. Merely import the same clip over and over again, choosing each individual section by in/out points. DVDA is smart enough to know that they are all part of the same original file so it will only load that file onto the disc once, but it will treat each section as if it was a separate clip.

I believe the help menu explains this pretty well, but as Chienworks says, you import the Video into the project area, one time for each segment. DVDA will actually only import the video once.
Then open each segment link individually and set an In and Out Point. Then have each menu button link to each individual segment and change the end action for each segment.
Humor me for a moment and allow me to walk through this if you will...I import the same video in it's entirety (and in this case 25 times for 25 scenes) and each time I mark an "in" and "out" point for each scene. If I have followed you correctly, then when, and more importantly, where do I create these in and out points without re-rendering the video 25 times. I tried importing the video a moment ago to see where I put these in \ out points but it was not obvious to me.
Sorry to bother you guys with this but I am fairly new to Vegas and trying to meet a hard deadline. Again, many thanks for taking the time out to reply.
After importing you can drag each instance onto a menu page (you'll need several for 25 clips).
Double click on each instance in turn, so that they are displayed on the timeline and then move the cursor to the points at which you want each to start and end. When the cursor is in position click on the relevant button for In Point or Out Point or simply press I or O.

Jeff,
Once you have imported in 25 times, first RENAME them so you can tell them apart.
Then Double Click on #1, go to the timeline and Mark I and O just like in the Vegas timeline. Only this time, the grey area will move. This becomes your in and out times for Scene #1. Do the same for each one. Now, your Ins and Outs will not be exact to the frame because, like a Chapter point, it has to be on an IFrame, but it will be within 8 or 9 frames either way.
See the other explanations and between them you should be able to get it going, but if not, ask some more questions.
Again many thanks! I have been burning the midnight oil with this one and I think I am a little brain dead right now but the info looks well laid out. I will regroup and check it out later today or tomorrow morning. I actually have the DVD's now but they just don't have the loop backs like I wanted, however, the client is thrilled with the video so I think I may be okay with it like it is this time.
Happy New Year to you guys! May it be a great one for you!
