Hi. I have interlaced video footage (25i). If I deinterlace it at first Upper Field, then Lower Field to produce two deinterlaced files. Then combine them in so way that deinterlaced frames will produce file with 50 fps progressive. So then play it pack at 25 fps ? So how to make slow motion video from 25i ?
Wow,
I guess that's one way to skin a cat (sorry cat lovers!).
Firstly i think you have 50i but lets not quibble over numbers.
To do slomo in Vegas is WAY easier than that. You have several choices.
1) Insert velocity envelope and you can speed a clip up and down. Good for somethings but best to render it out to a new clip/track otherwise it gets rather confusing.
2) Change playback rate in the clips properties. Sets a constant speedup/slowdown.
Both of these are easily done so play around with it. Also try different the different options in the project properties for de-interlace method may affect the result.
Bear in mind that attempting to slow down to less than 30% maybe problematic. There simply wasn;t enough data recorded by the camera to produce decent slomo below that. You can try, you may be happy with the result.
Bob.
Oh, you can also just holdown the ctl key and drag the end of the clip to speed it up or slow it down, The clip will have wiggly line through it.
