How to output Video Capture Comments

I've got hours of interviews that I need to edit, and in the process of prepping for batch capture, I've added a lot of information in the "Video Capture Comment" area for each shot - usually a long sentence describing the content captured.

My question is this - is there a way to export this information out of Vegas to something like Excel or Word for others to look at? As it is, I can search using Vegas, but it would be very helpful to allow others to view my "video capture comment" notes for comments/approvals.

I know that the EDL can be exported, but I need to export the other info.

Thanks!

Actually - searching around a bit on the forum, I did find a suggestion for capturing the Comments column (or any other data) which works...sorta.

Detach the "Media Pool" window and select "Detailed" view. Expand the window to fill your screen, and then use either a screen capture tool (such as Snagit) or do a print screen.

Right-clicking in the detailed view allows for you to select "View" where you can select/deselect all the info related to a given capture, including the Comments.

This doesn't allow for sorting or searching, but at least allows for a paper record of the shots you've logged.

The ability to export this info is certainly something that SoFo should incorporate in the next iteration.

Short answer - No

I've been asking for this type of feature for a while - It would be very useful for my stuff, but no go yet. You can capture a screen shot, and paste this into a graphics prog, but this negates the ability to sort, etc. One can sort within the vidcap app on the various fields, which is helpful, but an export of the info is not possible at this time. This is something which someone from SF mentioned MAY be exposed in the scripting engine at a future date, but not yet :(
