How to place border on PIP's?

Hope someone can help -

I can't seem to put a border around a picture-in-picture.

I size and place the clip using pan/crop. Then, I add a border effect. The result shows as a border around the WHOLE SCREEN, instead of just the PIP, as desired. The results are the same if I apply the border effect in the track motion header.

I'm pretty sure I've bordered the a PIP in Vegas previously, but can't figure out how I did it.

Am I imagining things? Or is this possible . . . and if possible, how?

Much obliged!

Track motion, Glow with hard edge is one way of doing this. There are a couple ways, but this is the fastest. How are you using Pan/Crop for PIP? Do you mean Track motion?

Hi Spot,

I am using pan/crop on the clip in the timeline to resize (shrink) then position the PIP. Track motion seems to have the same effect.

Will give glow + hard edge a try.

Cheers,

When you add the border to a clip on which you have applied Pan/Crop, look to the left of the "Border" keyframe timeline. You will see a small triangle. If you click on this triangle then the border effect will applied to the resized picture instead of the full screen.
