How to print multiple files to tape?

Under Win98, if a create a big video, VF automatically splits it into files like myVideo.avi, myVideo01.avi, myVideo02.avi, etc. And when I print myVideo.avi to tape, it finds the other files and prints those as well. But how do I choose separate files that weren't part of a single render and print those to tape? I've tried naming them appropriately but that didn't work. Does the print-to-tape check the file size as well? There should be a simple way to select multiple files and print them to tape in a determined order.

This is not an answer to the question, but I think I have the same problem. Perhaps someone can answer both of us at the same time.

Here's my question.......

I'm read to print to the tape in my Sony Camcorder. Unlike earlier times when I've printed a single AVI file, I want to print a large project composed of multiple segments which I've already rendered into separate AVI files.

When I highlight the sequenced AVI files to print to tape, VF asks me to either render the entire project into a new AVI file or specifify a single filename for it to use.

I don't have enough disk space left to render the entire project again into a new AVI file.

Isn't there a way to print to tape a project consisting pf multiple sequenced AVI files that have placed on a timeline?

My experience has been that, you select the main file name you have given, and when you print to tape, all other files attached will be recoreded on the tape.

Render the project and VF will split the files for you at render time. Load the first one up in Vidcap and all the rest will print along with it.

Note: The print sequence is created at render time- you cannot create a print queue after the fact by renaming the files.

I understand the response and I've seen that it does work that way.

However, it sure would be nice for VF to print contiguous AVI files without having to rerender the whole project into one (or sequential) file(s). Sometimes there just isn't enough room on the hard disk to rerender everything.
