Older features in Vegas Pro that are no longer supported can be found in Options/Preferences/Deprecated Features (tab). In Deprecated Features, check the checkbox for 'Enable Print to Tape', close and re-open Vegas Pro 22 and you should then find 'Print to HDV tape' under the Tools menu.
But it still disrupts audio playback in other programs when it opens.
That may be a Windows problem.
In Windows, go to the Control Panel, select 'Sound' and then 'Manage Audio Devices' then select 'Speakers'. Select 'Properties' and then the 'Advanced' tab. In 'Advanced', uncheck the 'Excusive Mode' checkboxes:
This may or may not fix the playback problem. If it doesn't, it may be that it would be better to leave the print-to-tape occur and finish before using other programs that require audio playback.
I meant when Vegas is launching in general, not the printing function.
Though I had fun figuring out why Printng function sometimes works and sometimes decids that DV file it exported a moment ago neds to b e rerenedred in over 80%. Turns out 17 needs attentio nand if you go to another window and leave preparing to print in the background it will result in the error.
I also notice it disrupts programs temporarily but haven't found a workaround. One thing I learned is to never open VEGAS while a Teams meeting is running as it completely breaks Teams.
@sfthegreat You can try toggling with the "Close media files when not the active application" option under the General tab in Preferences to see if you get better results with that.
