How to Reduce 'Switch Menu' Delay Time

Is there any thing I could do to reduce the time it takes to switch menus.

i.e- I have created a start menu that display 4 buttons that when navigated to causes an auto switch to another menu. DVD-Lab call this 'Switched Menus".

The delay in switching is about 1-2 second. Is there any authoring techniques that would reduce this delay?

For a burned disc ( that is, where you create in an authoring program a menu link to another media asset or menu) that is created on appropriate media - you "risk' some delay in the sequencing step.

Most of the reason for this, is the particular set-top player/firmware in use and it's compatibility with burned versus pressed disc media. To check that the player is beyond "bad" - use a good pressed disc for testing response timing.

But there are combinations of reasons for your "risk" including where on the disk your media assets are located. In DVDArchitect Pro you can control this to some extent by "order of files" in the setup.
Don't expect this to be a high quality control however, due to the fact that this plays into the quantity of menu links and amount of media assets you are going to burn to one single disc. Disc's with total media content run-time under 28 minutes or so will be the best program design you can work with.

Try quality control testing in five or more set-top players to log response times and see for yourself how this variable works.

This is player-dependent, and not adjustable in Architect.
Although there are variations in seek times depending on program location on the disc, these differences are generally small.

My impression is that seek times with burned discs are a bit longer than pressed.
