How to remove video without removing it from project media.

hello i am transitioning from my friends sony vegas 14 and decided to purchase movie studio 16 basic myself since I'm video editing. There have been alot of issues regarding the program. one of my main issues is that i can't delete a video from my timeline without also deleting it from the project media tab. I also cant close out tabs as the program doesnt allow me to. I've seen youtube videos and such of other users having more options in their "view" tabs while i only have one option there. I'm in power user mode but i have no power. i bought this program about 4 weeks ago but just got around to opening it now and really want a refund if i cant figure this out. please tell me if its just something I'm Missing or if the program is really like this

You probably should have purchased Vegas Movie Studio 16 PLATINUM not basic. Basic has features missing and isn't much cheaper. Platinum is much better. See if Magix Vegas sales will give you a refund so you can purchase the Platinum version. For future reference you can download a trial version to check it meets your requirements.

Thanks I should have tried the trial! I just impulsively bought it because it was on sale and I assumed that it would have all my editing needs. I will contact them asap and try the platinum version thanks!

@Cynondria With Platinum make sure you use it in "Power User Mode" to have all features available. The option is bottom right in the Welcome screen.
