How to replace a dynamic area of a video

Hey guys, so I have a video where I explain a product. There is a PC monitor next to me and its turned off. I would like to replace its black screen with some video, so the scene is more alive.

The problem is that I occasionally move my hand over the monitor. I tried to use the pen tool to replace the monitor area with my own custom video, but that also makes my hand disappear when i move it over. I was thinking about a way to make this work, but I dont know about any. Maybe somebody has an idea?

Thank you in advance for any response.

1. Use mocha pro plugin. Expensive but designed for what you want to do.

2. Use masking in Vegas with 3 tracks: original footage, what you to add in yr empty screen, your hand masked out.

If you only move your hand over the screen occasionally, you might use the old magicians' technique of distraction. Zoom in on the product at that point using pan/crop then zoom out again or maybe add some helpful text at that point that obscures your hand and the screen.
