How to save audio in separate file

We recently acquired a Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder and Vegas Pro 8,1c. I would like to extract the audio tracks from video files, and either first save to audio files, or directly export them into Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition software, so after recording a speaking event and importing the video files to a laptop I will also have, with a minimum of interaction, a transcript of the words spoken in the video file (subject to further correction). I would prefer to automate the entire process, so I could just toggle on "make a transcript" when I do the file transfer to the computer. Can anyone suggest a straightforward way to do that? Please email replies to me.

To export separate audio files try the following.

Drop your video files that you want to have transcribed onto the timeline. You'll then need to export the audio portion of your files by using the File/Render as... command and select a suitable audio format for Dragon Naturally Speaking software.

Vegas can render WAV, MP3, WMA to mention only a few audio file formats.

Vegas is also capable of performing tasks via scripts but I don't know of any that are set up currently to do what you want automatically.

If you need to have a script written I suggest you post on the Vegas Scripting Forum and see what responses you get.
