How to specify the default button on a menu

Hi All,

I have a project with many menu pages and a few of them I have redone as the project got larger. Now some of these menus do not show the default button that I would like. For example, the second last button on the menu is selected as the default when the user goes to that menu, and I would like the top button selected to start with.

How can I specify which button is highlighted when a user goes to that menu page ?

Cheers and thanks for any help,
Paul

Over in the Project Overview window, find the item you want as the default button and drag it to the top of that menu's list.

In DVDA3 you open the menu items list on the left, then simply click-drag to the top of the list whichever item you want to be highlighted initially in that menu.

FWIW Paul you can add a slight touch of polish to your DVDs by specifying the target button whenever you have a link to a menu page; it also helps guard against the occasional *oops*. ;-)

For the viewer with a remote you can often guess what they might want to do next, saving them a couple of clicks when you get lucky. And yes, to some folks -- those who dislike remotes -- that is appreciated. A good example is returning to the main menu from an audio or sub menu -- they probably want to play the title video. Another is the buttons navigating from one scene menu to the next -- If one NEXT button targets the NEXT button on the following page, it's much faster flipping through the scene menus to find what you want.... targeting the return button makes little sense, and it's a bit of work getting back to the bottom of the page if the 1st chapter is selected.
