How to start Vegas capture with MIDI?

Hi, I want to start Vegas Capture (DVX100 connected to LapTop by FireWire) with an external control command (like MIDI?) but don't know how to set this up.
I have an Edirol FA-66 with MIDI in & out and am still investigating a hard- or software solution to start capturing video and multi audio tracks simultaniously for syncing purposes.
Must be easy so they say but maybe too easy for me?
Anybody?
References to articles about this subjects are welcome of course.

By the way, what does OT mean I see in many threads here?

I don't believe there is any MIDI-configured capture start application or device. Oddly enough, the MIDI spec allows for video control, and the Edirol DV-7 and PR 50 both allow for display/output control of video via MIDI. But I've never seen anything that allows for capture control.
