How to temporarily ungroup in Vegas?

I am searching for a simple function in Vegas and hope anybody might be able to help:
If you have a video+Audio event in the timeline and you want to trim only the video or only the audio part: how do you do this most simply in Vegas.
From other applications I am used that there is a key to temporarily ungroup the video from the audio. Usually it is the CTRL or the ALT key: you press it and then click and drag for example the audio – and ONLY the audio track. When you release the CTRL (or ALT) key the video and audio is linked as before.
In Vegas I active the same by fist ungroup (U-Key) … edit the audio … mark video and audio … and group them again (G-Key).
I think I miss something… these are to many keys… there must be a more simply way to do this. Can anybody help me out?
Thanks!

Ignore Event Grouping.
It's a toolbar icon.
Ctrl+Shift+U is the shortcut.

kairosmatt, I hate to admit it but I forget about this tool all the time and finding myself doing the "ungroup - regroup" thing far too often :-)

I use a lot that tool, so I've change it to a more fast keyboard shortcut - slash to the left "\", it´s on left top side of the keyboard.

You can program the keyboard to any short cut you like, I have the ungroup on the key above the tab key on the left " ` ", makes life easy.

SNAP it is the left slash, cannot make it work in 9 as for some reason it crashes (eh) so have used the "Q" key instead.
