How to Upgrade MSPlatinum 8 to 9?

Is it a free upgrade to go from Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9? Only downloads I can find seem to be fresh purchases of 9. I cannot even find discounted Upgrade options. Or do I simply use my PIN for 8 to activate 9?

Upgrades to a different version number are always paid. Only updates within the version (for example, 8.0a to 8.0b) are free.
