How to view correct format on a 16:9 monitor

Hi all,
I've just bought two new monitors ACER V243HQ 23,6" with a max resolution of 1920x1080 that I am using as computer monitor on my Vegas Pro 8 edit station.

However I do not succeed to display the correct picture format on these monitor either when I use one of them to expand fully the preview window or when I use one on them as an external monitor. What happens is that the picture is stretch horizontally (whether I work with 4:3 or 16:9 picture - the 16:9 picture I use are HDV 720p).

So I checked the properties of the project, everything is fine. I also tried, on the preview windows, the "simulate device aspect ratio", or "fit to screen" button, but it does not help.

I use a MATROX Millenium 750 as a graphic card for dual display.

How can I solve this problem?
Thank you for your help,
Videojohn

You would need to set this in the "Aspect" or "Display" menu of your monitor. There are several options, labeled differently among different brands.
Right now it is set to the default, which is to stretch anything that is being fed into it.
