how would I?

This is just a little short clip I'm working on, basicly to get a better understanding of compositing and effects and ,well the "effects" they have on each other.
So here's the deal :
I have a backround scene on track 2 and myself in front of a green screen on track 1w/ chromakey effect on that track.
Track 1 & 2 parent/child with track 1 parent track overlay set to displacement map. I've adjusted the settings so that it gives me what I would call the "Predator's Invisible Camoflage" effect for lack of a better term.
What I am wondering is if I wanted to give myself a color tint , say a slight blueish or redish tinge.
How would I do that? It has to be another layer or two ,I know I cant add that to track 1,
but how do I mask it so it affects only my "displaced image" and not the backround.
I've tried a few ways now I'm just guessing.

YOu can apply the effect just to your track, similar to what's demonstrated in the tutorial on the Holograph look, or you could render out a 32 bit avi and apply effects to that as well, if you wanted to create even more odd effects.
You can add it as a gradient...The displacement map goes on top, your image is on the second track below, right? On the second track is where you'd apply the gradient or color overlay.

well I think I found away, I added a copy of track 2 (me chromakd)on to track 1.
three tracks total, then i applied channel blend adn hsl to that track and adjusted the opacity way down to 5%.
I dont know if that 's the long way around.
Spot it seemed if I added any color affects to the displ mapped track2 it affected the displacment and made my image become a blur.
drats! I wish I had a web page to post the clip on so i could explain better, I can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about fuel injection systems, yacht radar and navigation systems , but i couldn't build a web page if my life depended on it.

It shouldn't. The upper track/parent in the displacement map scenario is never seen, it merely controls behavior. The lower track, which is seen, can support any effects, and the only time effects could become an issue is if your key isn't clean, or if your track has track motion or pan/crop applied and is shrunk smaller than the screen preview area, and has invisible borders that the effect can't go beyond.
Then again, I can't see how you've created the file....so it may well be that applying an effect to the keyed track is somehow modifying the displacement figure.

yeah I think I need to just keep trying things and refering back to all the great tutorials by you guy's.
I'm probably not giving you all the info or the right info you need .
It's like when I get sombody on the phone at work telling me "I'm turning the little knob next to the switch thingy and nothings happening !! what do I do?" .
but just to clarify the original set up is with only two tracks the lower being the backround image (seascape) and the upper/parent being me and mister greenscreens.greenscreen keyed out of course
My body displacing the seascape.the key seems good.
and just in case it makes a difference here's the way i set the displ map settings
horz and vert scale @.080
x axis channel red, y axis channel green
edge pix trans bckrd
*checked the alpha channels scales rgb (I dont really understand the the function of this
I just noticed that when it is checked, the image is not offset in frame as it does when you just apply the displacement .then i dont have to use pan/crop or trk mtn.
Anyway this is probably too much info that wont help without actually being here seein what I'm doing
Thanks for the input though Spot, I'll keep on plugin away
