In vegas, position yourself on the timeline where you want; set the picture quality to "Best (Full)" on the preview screen and then click the disk button which will bring up a save as dialog.

In DVDA, go into preview mode, then click the Copy to Clipboard button; activate Paint (or some other photo program that allows pasting fromthe clipboard), then do a paste from clipboard (on the edit dropdown) and you can save this out to a file.

the Vegas method will be used when creating your basic background, the DVDA method is typically used when creating transition menus (since it allows you to also capture a picture of all your buttons).

Thanks very much! That did the trick. BTW, do you know of any books written about vegas and/or DVD arch? I have the quick start guides, but i would some more in-depth material.
