Mpeg source material?

I've seen that when rendering to MPEG from DV source. It is fine going DV to DV.
As a workaround, I would say to render an AVI (DV or uncompressed) file then render it out to MPEG.

well, the problem remains whatever the source is(avi, jpeg, bmp photos, etc),and whatever the output is(mpeg avi uncompressed or compressed).i first noticed that when i made a work with photos using crossfading and the plugins of vegas.after rendering this work i noticed some big diference in some photos(wrong colours and loss of details),so thinking that crossfade was the problem i reexamed the source which was playing fine in preview, until i selected "render as".
after that i tried everything inclunding avis as a source with the same results
