hi - vegas12 does a great job of mp4 encoding... any ideas on how to export to webm + ogg ?

I'm testing the fireogg online converter ... I won't use miro or other free converters since i've reviews saying malware/adware in those.

years ago a thread here said to download a google vp8 codec...still correct, or does v12/13 have export to ogg/webm included? thx...

Vegas does not support these particular codecs natively, nor is it likely to do so in the future. You see, Vegas is a commercially licensed product.

Since you are unwilling to try any third party solutions, I honestly don't have any good answers for you.

I do know that VP9 will be deathly slow for the next few years, and may turn out to be a bigger flop than VP8. Last anecdote I saw said VP9 was taking two weeks to encode a one-hour video, although it may have improved some since then.

To see the more-or-less current state of hevc/x265. and webm/vp9, have a look here:

Open source tools from webm Project. I used them a couple years ago for a project.
