I've never had the guts to try setting my apps on fire yet. It would probably violate the air pollution laws in my area anyway.

I did try putting a Rod Stewart CD in the microwave oven once just for kicks. (NO! It wasn't mine. I found it abanonded on the sidewalk in front of my house.) It was quite exciting! After about 8 seconds there was a huge spark and then this ball of lightning came out of the glass door, slowly floated down to the floor, then exploded into thousands of little sparks that went scurrying across the floor. (Poor kitty who got in the way. Shocking experience, but not harmful at all. *whew*). The CD was of course ruined. The metalic layer ended up looking quite shattered. On the whole, i'd say it was rather more entertaining than Rod's actual performances are.

You filmed this of course - ? I've enjoyed many brief light shows by frying coastered CDs, but have never been gotten the sparks to fly out like that. What's your technique?

No doubt. Rod needs to stick closer to his old buddy Jeff Beck, just as Mick is rather lost without Keith. (and vice versa).

Sadly, no. This was long before most folks even dreamed of having their own video cameras. I suppose i could have cranked up the ol' Brownie 8mm and had a go at it though.
