I ain't goin' nowhere

After the severe diappointment with the amount of audio features in the new version, and all the talk in the "Alternatives to Vegas" thread, I just wanted to say that I'll still be using Vegas for the foreseeable future. I went through the "alternatives" phase when V5 came out, and my decision hasn't changed. I still haven't decided if I will upgrade or not (V5 is rock solid for me), but I am pleased to see VST support and AAF/BWF support. If I see an improvement in my performance with V6 and my UAD-1, then I will probably go for it. It's cheaper than buying another card.

I don't have all the extensive needs of some other users. I like to keep it simple, and I hate software that interferes with making music efficiently. My understanding is that Rewire is a complicated if not impossible job for Vegas. Even though I think it would make Vegas extremely more powerful, it's not really a "top" on my list. I really prefer not having MIDI in Vegas. However, there are a few very simple things which could be done to greatly improve the existing program IMO. One thing would be the ability to send from a bus to another bus or assignable FX. I mentioned in another thread a VST plugin that could do that, but it glitches when rendering. If someone can get that working - great! Another thing is something that is an ongoing mystery for us users. Many have asked about it, but we still have no answers: why was the audio routing changed in V5? And, why not give us the option to set it the other way if we want. We are given a simple pan plugin with only one panning law - hardly a compatible tool for legacy projects which may need rework! Please, if it must be this way, give us some kind of useful workaround.
