I Can Not Advanced Capture

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. I can not seem to capture video with advanced capture in Vegas 4.0

The help file says : "To capture the video, click on the Capture In/Out button."

I can not find this button. I see a play button, but no Capture In/Out button. I need to use the advanced capture because I want to start capturing at a timecode and stop capturing at a timecode. I set these timecodes up, but there is no capture button. There are only play, pause, stop, ff, rw. I tried the play button, but that did not do a capture, it just played the take from the DV camera.

I know the camera and software setup are fine because I can do simple captures.

Have you "Enable DV Device Control", under options, preferences, general?

if you have a few capture points you will want to use the Batch capture option as the Capture In/Out just captures the one clip. These will be greyed out unless the device enabled is not set as above.

Enter your in and out timecodes in the boxes provided.
LOG the capture setting in the menu just below.
Repeat for each clip.
In the "Clip Explorer:" toolbar you will see a "Batch Capture" option next to "Search." Click this when you're ready to capture your list of logged clips.
