1. so everytime i import a video, this warning popup appears:

"An error occurred while creating a proxy file for a stream.

An unexpected error has occurred."

No matter what video i import, this always comes up. When i continue editing and load my .veg file, this appears as well. Now im not sure what the error means, however, after i select OK, then i guess everything's ok cuz i continue to do my work. Can someone provide more information regarding this error?

2. Sony Video Capture is part of Vegas right? Everytime i try to capture video from my DV camera using vegas, it prompts me to input the serial number to use Sony Video Capture. Now is the serial number supposed to be the same serial number for Sony Vegas? Well i'm guessing no, because when i input my Sony Vegas serial number, it says that it must begin with "JC", but my Sony Vegas serial number begins with "JB." By the way, i purchased the Sony Vegas + DVD Architect bundle. So was there supposed to be another serial number provided in the box for Sony Video Capture or is this like another product i have to purchase separately? I would think that Sony Video Capture would be part of Sony Vegas.

Had you tried out a demo version of Vegas first?

I would uninstall and reinstall and see if that solves your serial # woes. Make sure you have your serial numbers before you uninstall.

If you registered Vegas with Sony, the My Account button above has your serial numbers stored there.
