I have 9, 10 and WILL NOT be buying 11!!!

As stated, I will NOT be buying another Sony DVD authoring program again simply for the fact that every time when they come out with a newer version, it is flawed without providing any updates or support. Also, instead of issuing updates to correct the bugs, they release newer versions with newer problems at a cost -- such as the VMS10 that I spent money on upgrading to and now, the 11! It was exactly as I'd predicted from a while back on a post; instead of working on correcting problems with VMS10, instead Sony would release a version called VMS11 FOR SALE -- voila! Also as expected, its newer versions just keeps on crashing and runs slower and slower than ever! Why the fck would I keep on spending my hard earned $$$ on something I thought would be updated but instead, it is being upgraded (not update) at a cost?

Well, there are plenty of alternatives available.

And version 11 works flawlessly for me on both my XP and Windows 7 computer.

So if the problem is your system configuration and not the program itself, switching brands won't help you.

But good luck with it anyway.

I also have bought VMS upgrades 9 amd 10P. I've always been amazed at the videos and DVDs I can create with this program from my tiny pocket Casio ES-X12 camera 12Mp photos and 720P video. There have certainly been issues, but the wonderful users on this forum will work tirelessly with you to solve your issues.
VMS10P did not properly support the Casio .avi video files - the video was OK but the audio was flat-line absent. VMS9 handled these Casio .avi files fine. I reported this to the forum and they confirmed it, and I put in a bug report to Sony and they confirmed the problem, and said it would be fixed on the first upgrade.
As you stated, VMS10P was never upgraded, so I used VMS9, or processed the Casio .avi files through Live Movie Maker to .wmv files. I downloaded the VMS11P Trial and - Walla! - it handles the Casio .avi files perfectly. I've made a video and everything works great on my W7-64 i7 computer. I love the auto-cropping (first seen in VMS10P). I have not done the -64 patch, having seen no problems yet.
I told Sony Customer Support that I had never gotten full use out of my VMS10P upgrade because of the unfixed Casio .avi no-audio bug, and they promptly gave me a free upgrade to VMS11P.
They are running their company their way, as is their right. We get to decide whether to continue to buy their software. For me, VMSP - with the backing of this forum - works better than anything else I've seen. It makes me into a video production star. I'm staying.
