...why is Vegas so slow previewing audio in the Explorer
view when using Audio Preview? It takes over a second
before playing the file, even if they are very short (only
a few seconds long). This may not seem like a big deal but
often I'm searching through FX in a directory to try to
quickly find the right one and it can be really tedious!

The strange thing is that if I don't use Auto Preview and
just select the file and hit Space, it plays
instantaneously. When I've used Cool Edit Pro with auto
preview, the playback time is very quick.

Any ideas anyone?
