Does anybody know why my firewire drive so consistently acts up (or gets corrupted) when I try to transfer hdv files from the firewire to my main drive?

I've transferred standard MPEG-2s in the past with no problem.

Make sure your firewire interface does not share it's IRQ with anything else.
